The 2017 pumpkin is modeled after a 1960s camper trailer, complete with a kitchenette, table, and all the decor you’d expect from a charming midcentury leisuretime vehicle.

This pumpkin is definitely among my top-five faves. There’s just as much detail inside as outside. I placed the setting in a forest campground. Used a lot of plants I found in my yard to create a lush and green scene.
Some of the materials I used were popsicle sticks for the picnic table, wire grating for the screen door, some funky fabric I found at a thrift store for the curtains, and lots of hot glue to adhere it all and to create the painted campfire.
It’s fun to think about an era when these campers were popular for a U.S. road trip and an overnight stay under the stars.
